For on this night, two english clubs battled it out for european supremacy....and what a game it was! Right from Ronaldo's first goal to the winning save by Edwin Van Der Sar....it kept everyone at the edge of their seats. A fiiting finale to a ferocious battle called the Champions League!
There was a huge feeling of anticipation in the air that night. For a match between the very best was sure gonna be a treat! Drogba, Lampard, Ballack, Terry and Co. was lookin to be the 1st London club to get the european honour, but for that they had to surpass Sir Alex's brave Cavaliers...Giggs, Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Ferdinand, Nani and the list goes on! But as a nervous Terry missed the penalty and fell to the ground, blinded with tears, and a furious Van Der Sar saved the penalty, it was clear that when it came to Crunch situations, the wily old foxes like Giggs and Ferdinand and Scholes along with the young blood, were the best.
So now, that Manchester United, the newly crowned Epl winners get yet another, very dazzling laurel in the form of UEFA Champions League title....As the season of football for 2008 draws to an end, all we can hear is WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!! and they surely are....
